Far Hills, NJ (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The United States Golf Association announced
on Wednesday that CordeValle in San Martin, Calif., has been selected to host
the 2013 USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship.
Situated on 1,700 acres of rolling terrain in northern California, CordeValle
was designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr and opened for play in 1999. A past
U.S. Open local qualifier site, CordeValle will be hosting its first national
championship and will serve as the host venue for the 2010 Frys.com Open on
the PGA Tour and the 2011 PGA Cup.
"CordeValle is honored to be selected by the USGA, and we look forward to
hosting the best female senior amateur players in the United States," said
Travis Skeesick, director of golf at CordeValle. "The course sets up well for
exciting match play, and the players abilities will be tested on all levels.
We hope this is the first of many USGA championships played at CordeValle."
This year's USGA Senior Women's Amateur Championship will be played at
Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla. Last year, Sherry Herman
defeated Carolyn Creekmore, 4 & 3 on the Cascades Course at The Homestead.
