Cardinals activate P Motte

He had been on the list since August 4 due to an AC sprain of his right shoulder.

Motte has excelled out of the Cardinals bullpen this season, pitching to a 2.70 earned run average in 46 appearances with a 3-2 record while notching two saves and nine holds.

To open a roster spot, the team optioned infielder/outfielder Allen Craig to Triple-A Memphis. In 32 games this season, he is batting .188 with two homers and 12 RBI.
