Bulls face Bobcats in Windy City
Basketball Betting Lines
04/03/2010 -
(Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Hoping to keep their slim postseason hopes alive, the
Chicago Bulls will return home for three games starting with tonight's matchup
versus the playoff-hopeful Charlotte Bobcats at the United Center.
Chicago is 1 1/2 games behind Toronto for the eighth and final playoff berth
in the East, and will also welcome Milwaukee and Cleveland to the Windy City.
The Bulls, who own a 21-16 home record, have won five of their last seven
games to stay in the race and are coming off Friday's 95-87 win at Washington.
Derrick Rose pumped in 24 points to lead all scorers, while Taj Gibson added
14 points and 16 rebounds for the Bulls.
"We are always trying to look at matchups," said Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro.
"I liked our defense in the second half and they didn't get as many second
shots and second chance points which was great."
Luol Deng added 14 points, and both Kirk Hinrich and Joakim Noah had 10 in a
winning effort.
The Bobcats are on the verge of their first-ever playoff appearance and sit
seventh in the East, only a game behind No. 6 Milwaukee. They have won two
straight and five of six games, and are coming off Friday's 87-86 overtime
triumph versus the Bucks in the finale of a five-game homestand.
Stephen Jackson scored 32 points and sank the last of his four three-pointers
to break a tie score with less than a minute to go in overtime. Raymond Felton
added 12 points and six assists, while Gerald Wallace came up with 11 rebounds
for the Bobcats, who went 4-1 on the residency and are 29-9 as the host.
"We just wanted to play harder than them," Jackson said. "We wanted to be the
more physical team."
Bobcats coach Larry Brown was ejected after receiving two technical fouls in
the second quarter for arguing with the refs. Charlotte will try to work on
its 11-26 road record before the postseason commences.
The 2009-10 season series between the Bobcats and Bulls is tied at a game
apiece, with each team holding serve as the host. Charlotte has dropped eight
of the 10 meetings in the Windy City.

MySportsbook.com Posts Heisman Trophy Odds
With 3,919 passing yards, 32 touchdowns and a mere seven interceptions last season, combined with a powerful South Bend Heisman legacy, odds makers at MySportsbook.com have given Notre Dame senior quarterback Brady Quinn the best Heisman Trophy odds at 5-2.
Quinn isn’t the only big man on campus this season. Oklahoma junior running back and 2004 Heisman runner-up Adrian Peterson, listed at 7-2, rushed for a combined 3,033 yards in his first two years as a college player and will give Quinn a run for his money.
This online sportsbook has also listed Troy Smith, Ohio State senior quarterback, as another strong favorite to win the 72nd Heisman Trophy. A 7-1 bet, Smith threw for 2,282 yards last season and also led the Buckeyes to a convincing 34-20 victory over Quinn and the Fighting Irish in last season’s Fiesta Bowl.

Sportsbook betting odds favor Europe in Ryder Cup
September 19, – Despite holding a decided edge in the all-time series, with 24 wins, 2 ties and 10 losses, Team USA is the underdog again heading into the Ryder Cup in Kidare, Ireland this weekend, according to MySportsbook.com. The Europeans have captured four of the past five editions, including their largest victory ever, an 18 ½ to 9 ½ thumping in Michigan in 2004. Current Ryder Cup betting odds favor the Europeans to continue their winning ways; they are a 4-5 bet to take the title, compared to 6-5 for the Americans.
Despite being knocked out in the first round of World Match play by Shaun Micheel, Tiger Woods is predicted to lead the US charge and be their highest point scorer for the week, with odds listed at 9-4 that he outpoints all other American players, including Jim Furyk, Phil Mickelson and Chris DiMarco to name a few. Team USA has four relatively unknown players on the roster but all four are 2007 tournament winners and have posted some of season’s best performances, each earning over $1.5 million on the PGA TOUR. They include Zach Johnson, Vaughan Taylor, JJ Henry and Brett Wetterich.
The experienced European squad includes the likes of Luke Donald, Sergio Garcia, Padraig Harrington, Jose Maria Olazabal and Darren Clarke, who’s emotions will be tested after the passing of his wife to a battle with cancer. Donald and Garcia are in particularly good form and each is a 5-1 bet to lead the European squad in the points race. Donald has proven he can go head to head with Woods at a major event after a run for the $1.2 million purse at the PGA Championship. Garcia’s Ryder Cup credentials prove he’s ready for battle too.
